т. д. А пока вот (разбито на два): Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 21:52:19 -0500 From: nick cobb Subject: Prof. Jaroslav Pelikan Received! Friends in Christ, I tried to post this message yesterday and don't believe it got through. If it did, I apologize for the repetition. I was informed by a friend at St. Vladimir's Seminary that at the Divine Liturgy celebrated at Three Hierarchs Chapel on Sunday of the Veneration of the Precious Cross, during the reading of the prayers for the catechumens, the name of the world renown theologian Jaroslav Pelikan was read. Jaroslav Pelikan is of Lutheran background and, as most of you know, is an internationally known religious scholar. My friend was not sure when Jaroslav Pelikan's Chrismation would take place, but it will be within the Paschal season. Jaroslav Pelikan had been attending the seminary's chapel for sometime and has announced his desrie to be received into the Church. Rejoice with me brothers in The Way, and fellow pilgrim's after The Truth, Who does Himself call all of us into the unity of the Father through the fullness of Himself in the promised catholicity of the Holy Spirit. Rejoice with our holy Mother, the Church of Jesus, the Coming One! David Cassens ---------------------------------------------------------------- YES, it is true! The angels rejoice! Prof. Jaroslav Pelikan, Prof. Emeritus at Yale University, renown Church Historian, was received into the Orthodox Church today at St. Vladimir's Seminary Chapel. We all thought it would have happened years ago! There is also the same query on the AOL boards. Is there any reliable facts on the matter out there? Please, remember, I am “set no mail“ for Lent. So, responses, please e-mail me. And for those who responded about lexicon sources, thank you. I will be responding to you later this week as I finish my “catch up on e-mail extravaganza and marathon.“ In Christ, Thomas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From - Mon May 10 16:54:39 1999 Return-Path: Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 18:44:04 EST Reply-To: Orthodox Christianity Sender: Orthodox Christianity From: Tmeth Subject: Pelikan Conversion?
