Human rights should not be considered as postulates but rather as an object of serious study with application of more general criteria. The system analysis of their real humanitarian consequences, and the mechanisms of their realization and of the resolution of conflicts of rights of various people and groups, various rights of one person (especially - a child). A criterion of minimization of summarized violence of all types (direct, structural and cultural) has proved to be an effective tool. It is impossible to construct a universal definition of violence for different cultures. Nevertheless, this approach helps people to discuss problems. The major role in constructing of such definitions belongs to the methods of empirical sociology. The basic target of the research is an examenation of rights and the status of “normal children” living in “average” families, and mainly - children up to teen age. I also examine conflicts of rights of children, parents and society, arising before the birth and even before a conception of the child (within the framework of bioethical aspects of rights of the child). I analyze arguments pro and contra the right of a child not to be born, if it is obviously doomed to sufferings. I tried to answer the basic question - whether the modern concept of the rights of the child gives a correct vector, whether children will benefit from its universal introduction. In my opinion (confirmed by the analysis of some biographies), the modern “liberal” paradigm of education and raising generates the total level of the violence (considering the potential consequences in the future) not less then that of the strict traditional ones with beating, intimidation and humiliation. Liberals refuse an unreasonable child to have the right to be the unreasonable, burdening it by the responsibility. A child is not ready to this neither morally, nor psychologically, nor intellectually. In the democratic countries, the state interferes into affairs of a family trying to prevent violence, to protect the rights of a child. The effect from such intervention can be destructive. The opinion of Muscovites on a complex of the questions concerning the status of the child was studied (the full data is presented on my site epopova.narod.ru)
